Nancy Grace Bishop

May 30, 1939 - Sept. 6, 2020

Friends and acquaintances of Nancy Grace Bishop will want to know that she lost her battle with lung cancer, Sept. 6, 2020, in Oklahoma City, Okla., where she had made her home the last several  years.

Nancy was born May 30, 1939, to J.T. (Bus) & Eloise (Moore) Bishop and grew up in Basin.   She graduated from Basin High School in 1957 and married classmate, Bill Hallcroft.  They shared a life of adventure while raising their three children: Bill Jr., Lori and Tim.  Jobs and careers took them to Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Peru, South America and finally, to Oklahoma.

Nancy began her employment with American Airlines in Tulsa and remained a loyal employee of AA until retiring.  Upon retirement, she returned to Basin to enjoy small-town life.   She brought her mother back to Basin and settled herself into a life of community service.  She served on the SBHC hospital board, as a caregiver, a Big Sister as well as a volunteer in church and community activities.

A delightful attitude of optimism and the deep faith she carried within began lifelong friendships far and wide    She possessed a great sense of humor, a ready smile and a magnetic personality.  She was polite and considerate and everyone became a friend.   Pets were constant companions — animals from the shelters were lucky to be among the chosen! Kind, gentle, and patient, she was a perfect grandmother.   Her fun-loving, adventurous spirit appealed to the grandkids who adored her and looked forward to whatever escapade Nancy might dream up.  Ill health tried to slow her down as she fought breast cancer and heart problems long before this last illness struck.   She faced the health issues head-on and remained independent until the very end.

Her parents and brother John preceded her in death.   Survivors include sons Bill (Jennifer) of N. Richland, Texas, Tim (Kristen) of Oklahoma City, Okla., and daughter, Lori Taylor of Glenpool, Okla., six grandchildren and two great-grands. Ashes were interred in Oklahoma. No services are presently planned in Wyoming due to COVID-19 restrictions.
