The Town of Basin is seeking input for what to do with the area where the Eagles Building was located. Councilman Carl Olson is leading the committee looking for ideas. One idea that has been confirmed is planting a large pine tree. The tree will be the town Christmas tree. In addition to seeking ideas, volunteers are needed to serve on the committee with Olson.

The area will be used during Home for the Holidays Nov. 27. The town is seeking a grant from the Wyoming Business Council for the tree, a tent, signage, etc. The tent will be used during the holiday event for Santa photos.

Among the ideas for the area that have been mentioned by the town’s activities committee are picnic tables, a mural, flower pots, etc.

One of the grant requirements is to gather input from the public. The town has created a post on its Facebook page, asking for suggestions. There is also a poster board at town hall on which residents can write their suggestions.

The deadline for suggestions is Monday, Sept. 27 at noon.
