Rodger Kim Thatch, 68, of Worthington, Pennsylvania, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2021, at Jefferson Hills Hospital. He was born May 23, 1953, in Lovell to the late Jack and Kaye Jameson Thatch.

He attended school in Lovell and graduated from Lovell High School in 1971. Kim worked a variety of jobs throughout his life, retiring from Range Resources as a maintenance worker in 2006.

Kim married Christine Laux on September 1, 1979. Three children were born into the family, Erin Elaine (Adam) Fencil, Jody Kim (Jesica) Thatch and Lacey (Matthew) Chamberlin. The light of his life were his grandchildren Mariah, Emily, Makayla, Noah, Ava, Abbie and Allie.

Besides his wife, children and grandchildren, Kim is also survived by his siblings, Mary Alice (Ed) Ewart, Judy (Dan) Lopez and John, Paul (Ronda) and David (Sydra) Thatch.

A private memorial service will be held for family followed by a public celebration of life in the spring of 2022. Kim requested that his ashes be spread at Devil’s Canyon Overlook.

Donations can be made in his name to the Salvation Army.
