Winnie Louise Zeller

Winnie Louise Zeller

March 15, 1946 – July 4, 2021

Winnie Louise Zeller passed away in Torrington, Wyoming, on July 4, 2021, at the age of 75. She was born March 15, 1946, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Emily E. Aden and Martin Bjorke. Her parents divorced, and she spent her early years living with her beloved grandparents, Rev. and Mrs. Edward White. In 1954, her mother married Robert Aden Sr., who adopted Winnie and her little brother, Ed.

Winnie Louise was raised in Denver. She enjoyed Camp Fire Girls and Youth for Christ and volunteered at Colorado General Hospital. During the summer of 1962, she was visiting her grandparents in Lovell. She met Dennis Brent Zeller, who quickly invited her to get an ice cream cone. They became pen pals, marrying September 26, 1964, and made their home in Lovell. She was the mother of two daughters, Dana and Darlene.

She was a Bulldog fan for many years, following the girls to their activities, and she continued to follow the sporting events long after her girls were raised. She was a Denver Broncos fan and enjoyed being with her husband, gardening, sewing, cooking, hunting, fishing, camping and taking long drives across Wyoming.

Winnie Louise graduated from Northwest College, obtaining her LPN license. She worked mainly in the healthcare field for Dr. Henry Eskens, North Big Horn Hospital, Lovell Care Center and Thermopolis Wellness and Rehab Center. She was also co-owner of BZ Backhoe Construction. In the 1990s, the Zellers moved to Thermopolis. They purchased rentals and enjoyed being nearer to her parents. She was a member of 1st Baptist Church of Thermopolis and the Lovell Bible Church.

Winnie Louise’s kindness flowed through her as she went about life – during sorrow and hardships as well as joy and abundance. She was a wonderful example of Christian love, teaching about Jesus Christ and His desire for us to love each other through kindness and service. She was devoted in her faith, believing and living with purpose, teaching Sunday school, ministering to new moms by doing their laundry, sharing meals, cleaning homes and just being there.

Surviving her are her daughters, Dana Spann of Laramie and Darlene (Steven) Rowland of Torrington; grandchildren Kelly Rowland, Brooke (Deepak) Rana and Olivia (Blake) Lanham; great-grandchildren Rhett Lanham and Rishal and Easton Rana; sister Waneen (Caleb) White; and brother Ed Aden.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Dennis B. Zeller, parents Emily and Bob Aden and Martin and Maxine Bjorke, grandson Kurtis Rowland, brothers John Aden and Bob Aden and sisters Laurie Martish and Brenda Edelman.

A joint funeral service for Winnie Louise and Dennis will be held July 24 at 11 a.m. at the 1st Baptist Church in Thermopolis with Pastor Tony Newhouse officiating. Private burial of cremains will be in Lovell.
