If there ever was the prototypical “familiar face” at a business establishment, it’s Carolyn Cox, who this year is celebrating 35 years of greeting customers at a popular convenience store just west of Lovell.

She and husband Tom, live in Helena, Mont., but have spent the past 24 winters at their home in Sun City West, Ariz., a home they call “Cabin South. Two years ago, Lovell High School lost ag teacher Jared Boardman to the family ranch near Frannie. Last fall, the new agriculture teacher, Sam Hansen, came the opposite direction, moving from commercial agriculture to education as the new LHS ag teacher and FFA advisor.

The Wyoming Office of Outdoor Recreation manager Christopher Floyd brought an opportunity regarding Backcounty Discovery Routes (BDR) to the attention of the Bighorn Basin Outdoor Recreation Collaborative (BBORC) at a recent meeting. The proposed route includes a portion of Big Horn County.
