 One basic truth in Wyoming is that if you don’t like the weather, just wait because it’s going to change before you realize it.  Thursday morning, I awoke to a wet deck, which I had expected as I had heard tremendous claps of thunder in the night. Sounded like they were right outside the house and lightning lit up the entire bedroom.
So the deck was wet when I got up, and when I tried to walk down the sidewalk to meet my “Uber” driver at 10, I was dodging raindrops to get to the car. Got to Dr. Waddell’s office and they said they had had rain.

Letter to the Editor: Mishandling, not climate change, causing die-off

Dear editor:
I read an article put out by the G&F that stated more than 80% of the mule deer fawns they captured and collared died. This they blamed on malnutrition caused by climate change. I do believe malnutrition is responsible for these deaths, and blaming it on climate change is plain ludicrous.

Riverbed excavations concern county

Acting county engineer Matt Leonhardt talked to the commissioners at the Aug. 6 meeting about residents taking material from riverbeds. One area is near the bridge on Road 16. The bridge crosses the Greybull River (south of Otto).
“Someone has gone in there and excavated some material out around the bridge. Not right up on the bridge, but near it,” said Leonhardt.
County engineer Willie Bridges has visited the location to do an inspection. While not a huge concern at this point as far as affecting the bridge, it will be monitored.
