Jon Wolfe is the headliner for the concert at the Big Horn County Fair on August 6. The concert starts at 7 p.m.

Wolfe describes his style as traditional with a little bit of modern twist. His musical influences are Garth Brooks, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, George Strait and pretty much any of the county artists from the 1990s. He is also a big fan of Chris LeDoux.

He said he went to college in northern Colorado and spent a lot of time in Laramie and the Snowy River Range. He is also loves to fly fish and has traveled all over Wyoming fishing.

Wolfe has a new album that will be out Sept. 1 called DosCorazones, which means “two hearts” in Spanish. Four songs have already been released on venues like Spotify. By the time he comes to Big Horn County, four more songs will have been released.

The album features 17 songs. “It was a big song writing effort. They were all written by myself, my producer and one other co writer,” he said. “We wrote most of the album in a little adobe casita down in the Chihauahuan desert.”

For those wanting to hear Wolfe’s music he suggests going to his webpage jonwolfecountry.com. There are links on the site to Spotify and YouTube.

Wolfe said he loves coming to venues like county fairs because they are the heart and soul of county music. In the smaller communities you get to meet new people who are already fans of country music. “We may not know each other but we are bonding over something common,” he said. “I really enjoy meeting the people and I usually get some pretty good food.”

Justin Adams is the opening act. He is from Bixby, Okla., and his concerts are described as high energy with captivating songs.

Tickets are available for purchase now at bhcfair.ticketleap.com. Those purchasing tickets online by Aug. 1 will be entered in a contest for a special prize packet from Wolfe and the fair. The packet includes autographed Wolfe items, four VIP seats at the concert and a free ticket to any of the other grandstand events at the fair.
