Greybull’s top-notch Academic Challenge team took a hit at the Big Horn Basin Knowledge Bowl in Basin on Dec. 3, falling by one point to 3A Powell High School, 125-124. Cody took third. 

Speech team to debut in Worland

Greybull High School speech and debate will travel to the Worlando Beach tournament to kick off their season on Friday, with a lot of returning talent. 

Santa’s Bazaar, Little Shoppers in Basin Saturday

The Basin Area Chamber’s annual Santa Bazaar starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday. The event is held in the main hall at the Fairgrounds in Basin. Vendors will be showcasing gourmet foods, jewelry, woodworks, Christmas décor and gifts. B & B Concessions will have coffee, pop, donuts and lunch available for purchase. 

Kids invited to play guessing game

This month the library is yet again teaming up with the Greybull Recreation District for another after school activity. On Dec. 19 at 1 p.m., we will gather in the library/museum meeting room for a story and a Christmas ornament craft activity. Sign up/registration/permission slips will be sent home from the school to allow the children to ride the bus from the school to the library. Signed permission slips need to be returned to the rec center by Monday, Dec.

Food Bank distribution is Saturday in Basin

Those experiencing food insecurity may pick up food on Saturday starting at 11 a.m. at the fairgrounds in Basin.  The distribution runs through 1 p.m. or until supplies run out.

Motorists entering Greybull from the east early Monday morning were surprised by the sight of an airplane parked in an approach off U.S. Highway 14 after an apparent emergency landing.

Boys face tough opening tests in Wright, Glenrock
