SHERIDAN (WNE) —- The AARP Livability Index™ platform, a web-based tool that scores every neighborhood and community in all 50 states and the District of Columbia for the services and amenities that improve people’s quality of life ranked several Wyoming communities above the average of 48.

Kelly Averett took top honors in the Greybull Area Chamber of Commerce holiday lighting contest this season, with her house on 11th Avenue North sporting red, white and blue and a tribute to her son, Arlo Averett. Among the lights were an American flag and homemade tire snowmen. 

As subsidies expire, ACA policyholders likely to face higher costs

There are a lot of unknowns in the health insurance world with supplemental Affordable Care Act subsidies expired at the end of December. Sen. Dan Laursen R-Powell was invited to the Dec. 16 meeting of the Big Horn County Commission.  Like Rep. John Winter before him, he fielded legislative questions from the three commissioners as well as Lori Smallwood, Jen Kirk, Gina Anderson, Serena Lipp, Nicole Vigil, LaRae Dobbs and Cozette Winters.

Nicholas Smith and Christina Anderson, of Basin, are the parents of an 8-pound, 1-ounce baby girl, Emily Grace Smith.  She was born Nov. 19, 2025, at 3:32 p.m. at Cody Regional Health in Cody. Emily measured 20 inches long.
