Brooke White, 42, of Payson, Utah, died Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021, from complications associated with a brain and lung infection.
She was born January 1, 1979, and won the baby contest for being the first baby born in American Fork and also won the baby contest for Orem because that was where her family resided.
Brooke was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and belonged to the Hillman Field 3rd Branch of Payson, where she was much loved by all who knew her.
She was a very beloved member of the SRT Clubhouse community. She was always a ray of sunshine and someone who was constantly reaching out to others. Brooke loved people, and everything that she did in response to others showed her gentle nature and her kind heart.
The medical staff who worked with Brooke during her extended illness expressed appreciation for her loving ways and beautiful smile. She always expressed thanks to everyone who helped her in any way.
Brooke was preceded in death by her father, Jeffrey Alan White, stepfather Charles H. Durfee, brother Tex White and sisters Renae Taylor and Breanna Durfee.
She is survived by her mother Colleen (Kent) Chidester; daughters Jessica Higgs (Trey Mantell) and Jazmine (Hamilton) Hopkin; siblings Rock (June) White, Monte (Zoe) White, Krystal (Rusty) Reed, Misty (Tony) Moore, Jenny (Matt) Sartori and Charles Durfee; sister-in-law Alysia White; and grandson Atreus Mantell.
Interment will take place in the Byron Cemetery.
