Edward McNiven ‘Mac’ Partridge

Edward McNiven “Mac” Partridge was born in Worland, Wyo., on April 10, 1929, to Edward Blake Partridge and May McNiven Partridge. He passed peacefully in LaVernia, Texas at the age of 92 years and 5 months. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Peggy Burns Partridge, sisters Fern Partridge, Ruth Partridge Fales and grandson, Caiden Placker.

Mac was survived by his children, Edward Brian Partridge (Roseanne), April Partridge Landsiedel (Randy), Willa Partridge, Blake Partridge (Ivie), Aleta Partridge Worden (George), Joel Partridge, Nathan Partridge (Pierrette), Jared Partridge and Sister Carol Partridge McIntosh. He was the proud grandfather of 20 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mac served as Mission President of Bulgaria (1994-1997), the people of South Texas as first counselor to two mission presidents, bishop of the San Antonio First Ward twice, and multiple other callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Mac’s passion was temple work and genealogy. He served in the Billings, Mont., temple assisting families. He enjoyed genealogy and helped many families to find Bulgarian, Russian, and Croatian ancestors in addition to his own and extended family.

Mac enlisted in the US Air Force as linguist radio traffic analyst and crypto linguist (1953-1959) and went on to work as a civil servant as a Russian Linguist Intelligent Analyst and Intelligence Operations Specialist in Electronic Warfare Security Command at Kelly AFB on Security Hill in San Antonio, Texas (1959-1985) and worked on missions related to the U2, SR71, Reconnaissance Drone, laser guided drone as well as many top intelligence missions.

Mac will be fondly remembered by many of his family and friends as a loving father, devoted friend and faithful servant of the Lord.

Family and friends were invited to reminisce and remember Mac at a celebration of his life on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, at 5:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 1st Ward building located at 311 Galway, San Antonio, TX 78223.

Funeral services will be held on Oct. 1, 2021, at 10 a.m. at the Burlington Ward building located at 114 Cedar, Burlington, Wyo., 82411, with the dedication of the grave and burial directly afterwards at the Burlington, Wyo., Cemetery. Pallbearers are Edward Brian Partridge, Blake Evan Partridge, Nathan Scott Partridge, Jared Guy Partridge, Edward James Partridge, Clayton Cole Partridge.
