Frederick “Freddie” Ray Grisham

Frederick “Freddie” Ray Grisham, 79, passed away Jan. 28, 2024, at his home in Granger, Wyo. He was a former resident of Basin, Wyo.
Freddie was born Jan. 2, 1945, in Greybull, Wyo, at the family homestead, the son of Shedrick ( Hoot) and Bertha Grisham.
Freddie was the seventh born of eight kids in the Grisham Valley. He graduated from Greybull High School with the Class of 1964 before enlisting in the Army. Freddie was a Vietnam veteran. He married Geraldine Foss on April 16 1968, in Hot Springs, S.D. Together they had Fredrick Allen, Patricia , Larry, and Roger. They later divorced in 1982.
Freddie moved to Sweetwater in 1992 where he then married Eliose Chapman on Dec. 23, 1996. Together, they had Brian and Cassie.
Freddie grew up logging with his father, brothers and sisters. It was the family way. They learned at a young age to hunt and it was a passion that he then passed onto his kids and grandkids. Anytime he could get away from work, he was up fishing, camping and helping get logs down for firewood. You could say the mountains were where he felt at home. It was truly a trait that was carried on from childhood. Above all else, spending time with his family, especially his grandkids, was his favorite pastime. His name, like all that follows with the Grisham Valley kids, will be one that is never truly forgotten.
Freddie was preceded in death by his mother Bertha; father Hoot Grisham; brothers Jim (Bonnie) Grisham, William (Chris) Grisham, Harry Grisham; sister Betsie Harvey (Grisham);  daughter Marylee Grisham; granddaughter Ashley Grisham; sister-in-law Shirley Grisham and brothers-in-law Ray Gilmore and Jim Pasdach.
Freddie is survived by Eliose Grisham; sons Allen (Teri) Grisham of Evanston, Wyo., Larry (Annie) Grisham of Prescott, Ariz., Roger (Holly) Grisham of Evanston, Wyo., Brian Grisham of Green River, Wyo., daughters Patricia Riggs of Fort Bridger, Wyo., Cassie Grisham of Green River, Wyo.; brother Archie Grisham of Basin, Wyo.; sisters Ida Gilmore of Queen Creek, Ariz. and Nancy Pasdach (Grisham) of Oologah, Okla.,  sister-in-law Ruth Grisham of Greybull, Wyo., as well as several beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Cremation will take place and private services will be held at a later date.
