Jamie Williams, 54, lost her battle with liver cancer on May 21, 2024, in Great Falls, Mont.
Jamie was born in Casper, Wyo., on Feb. 23, 1970, to John Michael Williams and Shirley Simeone Williams. In 1972 the family moved to Greybull, Wyo. Jamie attended school in Greybull, graduating in 1988. She was very active in the school plays and speech team under the direction of Ted Menke. After graduating, she attended Casper College where she resided in and supervised the Newman Center. Upon graduating, she moved to East Lansing, Mich., where she earned her teaching degree from Michigan State University. During her time at MSU, she met and married her husband, Cory Hessel. They remained in Michigan where Jamie taught school. Jamie and Cory welcomed into their family sons Nathan Williams Hessel in February 2001 and Brendan Williams Hessel in April 2003. With their young sons in tow, they moved to Great Falls, Mont., in 2005 where they still reside. Jamie was the head librarian and media person at Charlie Russell High School.
Jamie is preceded in death by her father John Michael Williams, father-in-law Don Hessel, grandparents John and Ann Simeone and Jack and Julie Williams.
She is survived by her husband Cory and sons Nathan and Brendan Hessel, mother Shirley Williams and brother Michael Williams, mother-in-law Louise Hessel, sister-in-law Pam Allen, niece Elizabeth “Ellie” Williams and cousin (partner in crime) Janelle (Bill) Catlin along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 2, 2024, at 11 a.m. at C.M. Russell High School, 228 17th Ave Northwest, Great Falls, Mont.
A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at 10 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Greybull, Wyo. A reception will follow the mass. There will be a rosary Tuesday, June 4, at 6 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
A graveside service will follow the reception at the Donald J. Ruhl Memorial Cemetery in Greybull.
