Jennifer Irene Dahlberg
Oct. 26, 1972 - April 16, 2024
Jennifer Irene Dahlberg, 51, of Florissant went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 16, 2024.
Jen was born Oct. 26, 1972, in Sydney, Mont. She grew up in Greybull, Wyo., with her parents Jon and Shirlee, and sister Sarah. As young girls, they could be found drawing at the kitchen table, collecting rocks, working in the garage with their dad, or spending hours out in their playhouse. That is probably where her love of the outdoors began. She was an avid fisherman and got out on the water any chance she could.
From a young age, it was clear that Jen had a talent for anything artistic. She was offered a college art scholarship as an eighth grader, and in high school had an ink drawing hung in the Wyoming State Capitol building for a year. She was also the first student from Greybull to qualify for National History Day with a diorama of the Oregon Trail that she had crafted herself. She later dabbled in everything from watercolors, to welding, crafting, wood burning, and so much more.
Jen had her first and only child, Chandini, on July 17, 1994. As a single parent, she worked hard to provide her daughter with a good life, and instilled in her that same love for the outdoors.
She married Ed Rodgers on Aug. 20, 2009, after they had bonded over their many shared passions, including their love of Jesus and riding motorcycles. Their love for each other was immeasurable. They moved to Colorado in 2012 where she eventually started working for Colorado Ski Furniture as one of their artists. She took so much pride in her craft, and shared her talent everywhere she went.
One of her favorite things about living in the mountains of Colorado was all the wildlife that she could watch from her front door. She regularly sent her family and friends dozens of photos of deer, squirrels, foxes, and bears, and her excitement for those encounters never lessened with time. Jen also fostered and adopted elderly and difficult to place dogs — one of her true callings in life. She impacted everyone she met with her kindness and passion for life. Whether it was donating old barbie dolls to the Y children’s program, or bringing home cooked meals to her neighbor across the street, she never hesitated to help someone in need.
But out of the many things in life that brought Jen joy, none of them compared to the happiness that she felt the day her grandson Andy was born. They shared a special bond, and she was his biggest fan. She loved to take him fishing, share her passion for art with him, and bake him plenty of sweet treats.
She was a daughter, sister, mother, wife, grandmother, and friend, and will be greatly missed by everyone who was lucky enough to know her.
Jen was preceded in death by her father, Jon Dahlberg.
She leaves behind her husband Edward Rodgers, mother Shirlee Dahlberg, sister Sarah Dahlberg (Rob), daughter Chandini Dahlberg, grandson Andy Gunty, best friend Melina McIntosh, and her two dogs Doc and Glen who she loved like children.
There will be a private celebration of life held with family and friends. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that you make a donation to a local animal shelter or mental health non-profit in her name.
