Jennifer Kay (Jen) Stephens of Filer, Idaho, passed away surrounded by family and friends Nov. 24, 2023. Jen was born in Sioux Falls, S.D., on March 8, 1967, to Charles and Myra Kueter
Jen moved to Hills, Minn., at an early age. She grew up on the family farm. Jen graduated from Hills-Beaver Creek High School and from there she went to Northern State University in Aberdeen, S.D. While there, she earned a double major in elementary education and special education. After graduation, Jen took a job in Filer, Idaho, teaching high school special education in 1991. Filer is where she met the love of her life Matt Stephens, formerly of Greybull.
Jen and Matt were married 31 years and from this union they had three children, Cheyenne, Zane and Carson.
Jen was preceded in death by her mother Myra Kueter, brother Joseph Kueter and her mother-in-law Ruth Stephens.
Jen is survived by her father Charles Kueter; husband Mathew Stephens; children Cheyenne (Drew) Olsen, Zane Stephens and Carson Stephens; granddaughters, Whylie Mae Stephens, Willow Elaine Stephens and Iyla May Olsen and one brother and two sisters of Hills, Minnesota; and several nieces and in-laws from the Greybull area.
