Josephine ‘Jo’ Jones Sorensen

Josephine “Jo” Jones Sorensen, 82, of Hermosa, S.D., passed away from a sudden stroke on May, 4, 2025, in Rapid City, S.D., hospital. She was surrounded by all nine of her children and other family members at the time of her passing.

Jo was born Dec. 18, 1942, to Delbert Dalley Jones and Louise Jensen of Otto, Wyo. She married J. Newell Sorensen in Logan, Utah, Dec. 13, 1963. Jo is survived by her nine children, 42 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Newell precedes Jo in death on Sept 29, 2021.

Funeral services were held May 24, 2024, in Rapid City, S.D. Burial was at Highland Park Cemetery in Hermosa, S.D.
