The Lady Buff JV team split with Tongue River and Rocky Mountain in volleyball action last weekend.
The Eagles were revved up for homecoming last Friday and tossed the Buffs in two sets, 15-25, 19-25.
Coach Christine Armel said, “We had a hard time running our defense and offense and couldn’t really seem to find our rhythm.” Despite the struggle, Armel said her team gave it their all and kept a positive attitude.
Hosting Rocky Mountain on Saturday, Greybull turned things around and beat the Lady Grizzlies in three sets, 25-17, 22-25, 25-19. Rocky Mountain was the more pivotal of the two games as it was a conference match, and with the season winding down, every match becomes doubly important.
Armel said the Buffs had a much better day. “The girls came out with lots of enthusiasm and worked very hard.”
Sherlyn Diaz-Rios was praised for an “amazing offensive game” and Marlee Henson “stepped up as a middle and had good defensive blocks.”
For homecoming week at GHS, the JV Buffs will face the Wind River Lady Cougars in a home match at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Additionally, the Greybull C team is set to play their final away game in Powell on Monday, Oct. 16 at 6:15 p.m.
