Linda (Chroninger) Rhodes

June 16, 1942 – June 28, 2022

On June 28, 2022, we lost a great wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be missed by all who know her.  Linda Lee Rhodes died on June 28, 2022.  Linda was born June 16, 1942, in Wheatland, Wyo., to Elbert (Pete) and Beulah Chroninger.

Linda lived in bountiful Wyoming in a box car until she was 5 years old, as her dad worked for the railroad.

When Linda was 5 years old, she moved, with her mom and dad, to Greybull, Wyo.  Linda attended school in Greybull, going to grade school and graduating from high school in 1960.     

After graduation, Linda spent one year going to school at a business college in Denver, then transferred to Northwest College in Powell, Wyo., where she met the love of her life, Tom Rhodes.

Tom and Linda were married Sept. 8, 1962, and moved two times a year for the next six years as Tom went to school in the winter and worked in the oil field in the summers. During this time, they were blessed with a daughter (Robin Ann) in 1963 and a son (Thomas Lee) in 1966.  

In 1968, Linda moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho, where she lived the rest of her life.  While in Idaho Falls, Tom and Linda were blessed with a second son (Todd Allen) in 1971.

Linda was a stay-at-home mom until the kids were all in school, then she went to work for just the noon lunch at fast food places so she would be home when the kids left for and returned from school. After the kids were older, she went to work for the District 91 school food service and she retired in 2004.

Linda was a very dedicated mom and supported the kids in many activities — the boys in baseball and hockey and Robin in Girl Scouts and Job’s Daughters.  She got great pleasure in being with her grandkids and greatgrandkids.     

Linda was preceded in death by her parents and her son-in-law, Vance Mason.  

Survivors include her kids (Robin, Thomas and Todd), husband, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

No services will be held by her request, but a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
