Margaret Lois (Stewart) Nation
May 7, 1934 – Aug. 12, 2021
Margaret Lois (Stewart) Nation, 87, left our earthy world to join her husband of 51 years in heaven on Aug. 12, 2021. Margaret was born on May 7, 1934, in Rich Hill, Mo., to Austin and Bessie (White) Stewart. The family moved to Wyoming when Margaret was 8 years old and late in 1996, moved to Basin, Wyo., where Margaret had lived for the last 25 years of her life.
Margaret was very active in the Town of Basin. While living here, she ran for mayor, ran the Christmas Bazaar, started the Little Shoppers, was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, helped with the voting of The Lilac Queen, worked as a voting judge, was a member of The Lions Club, and a member of The Wyoming Fiddlers District 2. Along with all of this, she also wrote letters to the editor on things going on around town in Basin. But she always said her best job in later years was working at the Wyoming Retirement Center as an activities aide.
Margaret is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Marion (Nate) Nation; six sisters; and a great-grandson, Victor Henry.
She is survived by her sister Anna (Kenneth) Hall; three children, Teddy (Barb) Nation of Arizona, Joyce Nation of Basin, and Anita (Jay) Butler of Texas; six grandchildren, Victor (Charlotte) Henry of Arizona, Roger Henry Jr. of California, Tracy (Rex) Henry of Colorado, Byron (Michelynne) Mcdermott of California, Jason Mcdermott of California, and Justin (Adrianne) of Iowa; 19 great-grandchildren and 8+ great-great-grandchildren.
Per Margaret’s wishes, no service will be held. Arrangements have been entrusted to Atwood Family Funeral Directors.
