A celebration of the life of Michelle “Shelly” Hayes of Basin will be determined at a later date. Shelly, 75, passed away Sept. 4, in Basin, where she had resided for the past 20 years.

She was born March 12, 1945, in Watsonville, Calif., the daughter of Rainier D. and Helen P. Rutherford.

She married Dee Hayes on Feb. 28, 1976, in Elko, Nev.

Shelly was preceded in death by her father Rainier, mother Helen, husband Dee, son Zach and granddaughter Destiny.

She is survived by her son, Frank Hayes; daughter Hilary Flak and longtime boyfriend Sean Gramer; two granddaughters, Caitlynn and Arianna, and her cat, Maximus.

She will be laid to rest in Farmington, Utah, next to the love of her life.
