Nicholas McLauchlan

Aug. 14, 1970 - Feb. 22, 2025

Nicholas McLauchlan was born in Redmond, Wash., on Aug. 14, 1970. On Feb. 22, Nick left us way too soon at the age of 54.

Nick is survived by his wife Joelle; parents Jim and Diane of Shell, Wyo.; sister Stacie McLauchlan (Kat Knowles) of Camano Island, Wash., brother Josh (Jaclyn) of Shell, Wyo., sister Jessie McLauchlan (Jim) of Casper, and brother John (Kate) of Park City, Utah; nieces Anna McLauchlan, Bella Chavez, Rylee and Dylan Jacobsen and nephew Bodhi Knowles.

He was preceded in death by nephew Ian Chavez.

Nick married Joelle on Aug. 24, 2013. He enjoyed restoring and riding bicycles. Nick and Joelle loved riding their bikes around Greybull, Nick on his beloved blue stretch bike. He loved being outdoors and spent his time touring Wyoming, enjoying nature walks, fishing and shooting guns with family and friends. Nick enjoyed reading about Wyoming history, wildlife and culture (past and present). Nick was an avid bread baker, “crumb” was his thing and forever will be.

Through his job as a steel building designer, he worked on many cool projects like the Times Square (ball drop) building.  Nick supported and worked with the Combat Warriors, Inc., Wyoming since its beginning five years ago and would volunteer every year to set up elk camp, where he will be sorely missed.

Nick’s ashes will be scattered this summer in some of his favorite places.

A celebration of life has not been finalized at this time.
