Patricia Fletcher Black
August 2, 1942- August 15, 2026
Patricia Fletcher Black, 84, of Iona, passed away August 15, 2026. She was under the care of Brio Home Health and Hospice.
Pat was born August 2, 1942, to Harold Fayette Fletcher and Edith Anderson Fletcher. She grew up on the Sleeper Ranch in Meeteetse, Wyo., and graduated from Meeteetse High School.
On June 25, 1960, she married Jess Vernon Black in Meeteetse, Wyo.
Pat was a survivor of Breast Cancer and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She worked as a city clerk for many years in Greybull, Wyo. She was also the Mayor of Greybull from 1985-1988. Pat also owned a car dealership with her husband, Jess Black, for ten years. She was the sole caregiver for her husband for approximately seven years before his passing from early-onset Alzheimer’s.
In later years, she managed a storage unit facility before moving to Idaho Falls, Idaho, to be near her son.
She loved flower and vegetable gardening. She was an extremely generous and compassionate lady. Her home was always open to friends and family who needed a place - for a day, or a year.
Pat had a remarkable way of making everyone around her feel deeply loved, genuinely supported, and truly important. Whether through a kind word, a listening ear, or simply showing up when someone needed her, she made people feel seen and valued. Her love was constant and generous, and those who were fortunate enough to know her always knew they mattered to her.
She is survived by her son, Jess (Cara) Gregory Black of Iona, Idaho; son-in-law, Tony Spargur; grandchildren, Jeremy (Carly) Moore, Whitney (Jase) Romrell, Lindsay (Monte) Hill, Olivia (Joshua) Lovejoy, Shelby Robb, Heidi (Neiufi) Iongi, and Christian (Ainslee) Colegrove; and 21 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jess Black; daughter, Sydra Susan Robb; brothers, Leonard Henderson, Rex Tolman, and Robert Tolman; and sisters, Beth House and Betty Hermanson.
A celebration of life will be held in her honor from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026, at The Brickyard Event Center, 1025 S. Ammon Road. A private urn burial will be held at a later date.
