Randolph Francis LaBudda

April 3, 1949 - Aug. 29, 2025

Memorial services for Randolph Francis LaBudda will be held Friday, Aug. 29, 2025, at Grace Fellowship Church in Greybull, Wyo., at 10 a.m.  Sean Williamson will lead the celebration of life.  Randy went home to his Lord and Savior on Aug. 11, 2025, in Elephant Butte, New Mexico.

Randy was born April 3, 1949, in Chicago, Ill., to Frank and Agnes (Barzowski) LaBudda.  The family moved to Mauston, Wis., in 1951.  Randy developed his love of the outdoors growing up and exploring the river and woods near his childhood home.  He attended St Patricks Elementary School and his freshman thru junior year at Madonna High School.  His senior year he attended and graduated from Mauston High School in 1967 after Madonna High School closed.

The majority of Randy’s professional life was spent as a steel detailer.  The memories of him with yellow and red highlighters are abundant, along with all the sweets he kept near his work drawing table.  While working in Minneapolis, he accepted an unexpected phone job offer in Wyoming and moved his young family from Hastings, Minn., in 1975.  The move to Wyoming allowed him to pursue his love of trapping and hunting even more.  Randy also enjoyed fossil hunting, camping, gardening and reading, along with maintaining the most organized garage ever.  His love of gardening involved winters spent pouring over seed catalogs, planning his garden layout with precision and reading Mother Earth News.  Randy was composting before composting was cool.  He and wife, Deb, opened their greenhouse, Deb’s Garden Starts, together where they both spent endless hours in the dirt nurturing beautiful plants for several years.  Randy was also passionate about trapping with his brother Hilary and served as the vice president for the Wyoming Trappers Association for several years. Together they provided the fox hides for two years in order for a fur coat to be made for the Miss Wyoming USA pageant.  The August 1993 Trappers Association magazine featured the brothers on the cover with the then current Miss Wyoming USA.  But his biggest passion was the Lord.  He loved to ask every person he met if they personally knew Jesus.

After his retirement, he and his wife of 21 years moved to Elephant Butte, New Mexico, in 2022 due to his health.  Together they enjoyed time spent together in the Lord’s word and with their dog Kon.

Randy is survived by his wife Debbie Gilmore LaBudda; daughters Tracey Green (aka Theresa) and Randi Lynn Noble (Rory) as well as stepdaughter Niki Paxton (Bowe) and stepson Paul Kost (Kim).  He was known as Papa to 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  Siblings include Amber, Jeffrey (Linda), Bradley, Hilary (Deb), Sheldon (Susan) and Shayne (Denise) along with several nieces, nephews and extended family members.  He will also be missed dearly by his dog, Kon.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Randy’s name to Samaritans Purse at www.ifcj.org or the Wyoming Trappers Association at P.O. Box 83, Baggs, WY 82321.
