Sara Lynn Wilson

Jan. 8, 1947 -  March 27, 2023

Sara Lynn Wilson, 76, returned to her heavenly home surrounded by family, her pastor and friends on March 27, 2023, in Thermopolis, Wyo. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God gave her peace.

Sara was a kind and beautiful soul. She was in the process of moving to Thermopolis to be closer to her son’s family and be able to spend more time with her grandson Sawyer, whom she dearly loved.

Sara was born Jan. 8, 1947, to the late Roy and Julia Alberts, who later divorced. Julia married Robert Miller. Robert and Julia raised Sara and her siblings on a farm in Broomfield, Colo. She graduated from Arvada High School in 1965.

Sara was blessed with a loving family. She married her best friend and love of her life, Ralph Semer Wilson, on Sept. 13, 1969, in Denver, Colo. They raised one son, Shane. The family lived in Montana, Washington and settled in Wyoming in 1983, later calling Basin, Wyo., home after living in Riverton, Thermopolis and Alaska.

Sara was actively involved in the First Baptist Church in Basin. She made many friendships with members of the church and enjoyed Women’s Bible Study and Sunday services.

Sara is survived by her son Shane (Mandy); her grandson Sawyer; her brothers Ron (Maggie) Miller, Jim Miller, sisters Karen (Wes) Millette, Sandy (Claude) Verhoff and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; and her parents.

Sara has been cremated at the Antelope Butte Crematory in Greybull and a memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Basin, 10 a.m., Saturday, April 22, 2023. Pastor Aaron Gesch will officiate the service. The family gratefully declines flowers and donations, but prayers, condolences and memories are gladly accepted at

Arrangements have been entrusted to Atwood Family Funeral Directors.
