Wanda Lee Bond

May 6, 1931 – Sept. 15, 2022

Wanda Lee Bond, 91, of Greybull, Wyo., passed away Sept. 15, 2022, at Bonnie Bluejacket Memorial Nursing Home. 

Wanda was born May 6, 1931, in Greybull to Otto and Marguerite (Herren) Good. She grew up on the Shell cattle ranch and was good with a bull whip. She went on many, many cattle drives. Wanda went to school in the old stone schoolhouse and finished her high school education through correspondence courses. 

Wanda married Russell Bond on Aug. 17, 1953, in Basin, Wyo. The couple lived here in Greybull for most of their married life except for 11 years which was spent in Powell. She was in the Rebekahs for 50 years and she helped establish the Greybull Museum where she was an active volunteer until 2019. Russell and Wanda spent countless hours looking for and finding arrowheads and fossils. They called themselves Rock-ologists.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, husband Russell Bond and sister Lee Good. She is survived by her sister, Frankie Good; sister-in-law, Dora Bond; nieces Lavone Nelson, Mary Dempster and Glenda Connelly and nephews Ed Bond, Raymond Stearns and Bob Bond.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022, at the Donald J. Ruhl Memorial Cemetery in Greybull. Arrangements have been entrusted to Atwood Family Funeral Directors.
