Man pleads not guilty to sexual assault

Casey Neumeyer, of Greybull, was arraigned on Tuesday on charges of sexual assault in the first degree in the Fifth Judicial District Court of Big Horn County where he entered a plea of not guilty.
Neumeyer remains in custody at the Big Horn County Detention Center on a $50,000 cash bond after the prosecution declared him a flight risk. Neumeyer hails from Idaho where a warrant exists in his name after he failed to appear in court; prosecutors told Judge Bobbi Dean Overfield they felt Neumeyer could not be trusted if left to his own recognizance, given his history and a job offer he received in another state shortly before being arrested.
Neumeyer stands accused of having assaulted a woman while she was incapacitated. If convicted, the felony charge is punishable by imprisonment between five and 50 years and/or a fine not to exceed $10,000.
