Mayoral, town council races set finalized

Bill Brenner and Steve Brown joined incumbents Myles Foley, Chris Dooley and Gerald Crist in the race for Greybull mayor and town council during the final week of the primary election filing period.
Brenner, the town’s former police chief, is challenging Foley, who has been mayor since 2014, while Brown, Dooley and Crist are vying for a pair of four-year council terms.
The primary election is Tuesday, Aug. 20.  
Brown and Brenner will be making their first bids for the town’s governing body.
Brenner spent 16 years as the Greybull police chief, retiring in January 2023.  He’s now the chief deputy for the Big Horn County coroner. He said he has no axe to grind. “It’s simply a case of seeing certain things around town that could be better,” he said.
