Cannon Cook notched Eastern Wyoming College’s highest finish at the recent National SkillsUSA Conference, placing sixth overall in customer service.
Held June 24-27 in Atlanta, the conference brought together thousands of students from across the countryto compete in various categories, ranging from carpentry to culinary arts, robotics, and more.
Cook was one of 11 Wyoming students who placed in Atlanta.
He called it a “very humbling experience” and said the hardest part of the competition was that it was so big he didn’t get an opportunity to see and learn from the five individuals who placed above him.
“It was a fierce competition — only a five-point spread from gold to sixth place,” he said. “I just can’t thank EWC and the Torrington community for being so supportive.”
