April 4, 1948, - July 5, 2026
Daniel D. Dalin, age 78, found peace with the Lord at last as he passed away on July 5, 2026, at the Billings Clinic in Billings MT, surrounded by his loving family. He fought a courageous battle with many of life’s challenges for several years prior to his death.
Dan was born on April 4, 1948, in Lovell, Wyo. to Robert D. (RD) Dalin and Evelyn A. (Threet) Dalin. He attended schools in Greybull, Wyo. and graduated in 1966. He resided there for his entire life.
In August of 1972 he married Cheryl Ann Good and together they were blessed with two sons, Daniel Andrew Dalin and Christopher James Dalin.Through the years of rearing these sons, Dan coached youth baseball, football and wrestling. Both sons participated in these sports with him and his heart was filled with love and pride as he helped mold them into athletes.
Dan loved the great outdoors and shared that passion of adventure and freedom with his sons as they went camping and fishing high in the mountains. They especially enjoyed hunting season and horseback riding with his brother, Ron.
Dan was proceeded in death by his mother Evelyn A. Dalin and his father RD Dalin. He is survived by his younger brothers: Ronald G. Dalin and Bradley C. Dalin; his wife of almost 54 years, Cheryl A. Dalin, his two sons: Daniel A. Dalin and sons, Talon D. Dalin, Christopher D. Dalin and Tevin Kohuth; and Christopher J. Dalin and son: Ethan D. Dalin and daughter: Ruby J. Dalin; and various nephews. As the grandchildren grew up, they referred to Dan as Poppa – the name he dearly loved when he heard their voices calling out his name.
In accordance with Dan’s wishes, there will be no public services. His family will hold a private gathering at a later date. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Clayton Draggoo.
