Daniel (Dandy) Andrew Dalin

September 10, 1974 - August 20, 2026

Our dad, son and brother, Daniel (Dandy) Andrew Dalin, age 51, passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 20, 2026, near Sheridan, Wyo. Born on September 10, 1974, in Greybull Wyo., he was the first son of Daniel D. and Cheryl A. Dalin. 

Dan attended schools in Greybull and graduated from Greybull High School in 1992. After graduation, he attended Northwest Community College in Powell, Wyo., and later attended MIT in Phoenix, Ariz. In May 2002, Dan married Tanya Freier in Phoenix, Ariz. Together they were blessed with two sons, Talon Daniel Dalin and Christopher Dean Dalin, who joined their stepbrother, Tevin Lee Kohuth, in the family home. Dan and Tanya were later divorced. 

Dan cared deeply about people and often helped those in need. Whether trimming a tree, changing a flat tire, tuning a car, or repairing something around the house, he was always ready to lend a hand—no questions asked. He never expected anything in return; helping others simply brought him joy. Dan was a free spirit with a deep love for the outdoors. While working for Asplundh in Arizona, he found his place in the state’s wide-open spaces and developed a passion for clearing and trimming trees in desert areas for the power companies. When the company’s work in Arizona ended and crews moved to California, Dan chose to return to Sheridan, Wyo., where he lived until his death. 

Dan is survived by his sons, Talon D. Dalin and Christopher D. Dalin; his stepson, Tevin L. Kohuth; his mother, Cheryl A. Dalin; his brother, Christopher J. Dalin; his nephew, Ethan D. Dalin; and his niece, Ruby Jean Dalin. Dan was preceded in death recently by his beloved father, Daniel D. Dalin. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Atwood Family Funeral Directors.
