The Southern Belle, born and raised in Morton, Mississippi, LaVera Hillman has joined with her forever partner and our Lord and Savior. LaVera passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at New Horizons Care Center in Lovell. She just celebrated her 97th birthday with family and friends on July 13.

Brenda Gay Cook, 64, of Greybull, Wyo., passed away on July 25, 2021, at St. Vincent’s Healthcare Center in Billings, Mont. Brenda was born on Oct. 26, 1956, to James and Shirley Spicer in Dinuba, Calif. She graduated high school in Dinuba and married her late husband, Randall Cook, on Aug. 18, 1973, and later moved to the Big Horn Basin area.

Mildred Stella Grace Anderson passed from this life on April 24, 2021 to join her late husband, Francis Anderson and son, Randall Scott Anderson, and sisters, Cecelia Hilda, Ethel, Eva, Evelyn, Beatrice and Geraldine as well as her brothers, Paul, Arthur and Herbert.

Mildred (Millie, Mickey) was born Aug. 15, 1932, to Paul Teixeira and Ester Ethel Garcia Teixeira in Honolulu, Hawaii. As a young girl, she had a first-hand account of the Pearl Harbor tragedy as her home was very close to the beaches of Waikiki.

Lewis E. “Butch” Wiley passed away at his home in Worland on July 13, 2021, at the age of 78. He was born Feb. 12, 1943, in Worland to Clyde and Treva Wiley of Manderson. He grew up on the family farm in Manderson, returning there to farm with his father after he graduated from the University of Wyoming in Laramie.

Bonnie Lee Whipps of Basin, Wyoming passed away at Three Rivers Hospital on the morning of July 9, 2021. She is survived by her husband James H. Whipps of the family home; son, James L. Whipps and wife Kiley, and son, Robert A. Whipps, all of Casper; along with numerous nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Susan Amelia (Abigt) Ondracek, 99, died of COVID-19 complications on Oct. 11, 2020, at Velva, North Dakota's Souris Valley Care Center. Named for her maternal and paternal grandmothers, respectively, Susan Amelia Abigt was born on Feb. 12, 1921, to Fred and Bessie (Stark) Abigt of rural St. Joe, Wyo., on the family's farm.

Tom Jahrig passed away as a result of a fatal vehicle accident on July 5, 2021. He was 80 years old.

Tom was born in Worland, Wyo., but he made Manderson his home. He lived in Manderson for 31 years.
