The outbreak of measles has taken over the headlines and reminds me of the days of my generation when inoculations, both measles and whooping cough, were given to students during the school year. (The DPT shots our children were given when they were three months old.) The dreaded forms were sent home and on the day, students lined up by class, marched by the white-clad nurses and barred our arms.
