As we age, many things change. I used to call myself “middle-aged,” until I realized for that to be the case, I have to live to be 145. Unlikely. At this time of life, for my contemporaries and me, 60 mph seems faster. 10 p.m. seems later. Curbs seem higher. Rain pours harder. Night seems darker. Drivers tailgate, and pass, more often. Stairs seem steeper and more treacherous. Handrails seems more compulsory.
