C. F. Stratton, residing on Shell Creek east of town, had his nose broken and received a general shaking up Wednesday evening when his team became frightened and ran away in the north part of town, throwing him onto the pavement.
Mrs. Orpha Hazlett will give a little country dance at the rock school house Saturday.

Burglars smashed a window in the rear of Braden’s store about five o’clock Monday morning and entered. From all indications, they did not have time to take anything with them. They only had time to turn off the light before Pinky Vaught, the night watchman, happened along.
Leo Winter, night telegraph operator here, will leave Friday to take over the dual position of operator and agent at Glendo. R. R. Reed of Kirby will take Mr. Winter’s position here.

Cpl. Glenn Collingwood is an outstanding mechanic with the 7th Army in southern France. Some of his friends say that Collingwood could strip a Renault blindfolded and put it together without losing a bolt.

Sally Richard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Richard, was crowned homecoming queen of Greybull High School by Clarence Lohrenz, Buff captain, between halves of the homecoming game Friday evening.
Barbara Ann French, 3, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. French, sustained minor head injuries when she ran into the side of a truck driven by Anthony Walton Saturday afternoon in front of the College Inn.

Greybull High School was placed on a modified probation by the Wyoming High School Activities Association for what the association termed an “unsportsmanlike” act at the Greybull-Buffalo football game on Sept. 25. High School Board President Cullen Fletcher said the board “had no comment upon the action or upon the incident until after a meeting is held.”
From “Getting the Bull by the Tail” by Bruce Kennedy: A couple of Greybullites were talking out in front of their businesses the other day and stopped to watch a young blonde tourist walk into the cafe. “Wasn’t she attractive?” remarked one. “But aren’t they all?” said the other. “I haven’t seen a homely girl in 20 years.”

Five Basin business places on Main Street were hit by burglars the latter part of last week with two burglaries sometime Thursday night or early Friday. The businesses hit included Mountain Valley Home Center, Raffl’s Cleaners, Rustler Bar, Cheerio Bar and Fountain Drug. Stockman’s Bar was not entered, though an attempt had been made.
A leak in the hot water tank at the Greybull Elementary School building sometime Saturday night or early Sunday morning caused flooding of the basement and damaged several hundred dollars worth of food stored for use in school lunches. Frank Gruden, the elementary school principal, said water in the basement was 5 to 6 feet deep when the devastation was discovered.
