Mrs. Dorothy M. Groshart has purchased the ladies’ ready-to-wear shop of Miss Frances Rickman and will continue the business at its present location.

Lloyd Taggart sustained a considerable loss on Sunday when his Buick car ran off into the Shoshone River near the camp at the new bridge.  In some unexplained manner, the car got into motion and crashed over and into the river, a drop of 30-40 feet.  The damage is estimated at several hundred dollars.

Jan. 24, 1935

The Worland Warriors, playing over their heads, defeated an injury-stricken Greybull team at Worland, 29-17.  With Don Foe suffering a sprained ankle received in the  Meeteetse game, and Johnny Hart with an infected foot, the Panthers played their poorest game of the season, although it was a non-conference contest.

Wednesday, January 16, was a busy day in Greybull High School. Pupils went to the gymnasium to be “shot” by the camera of G. W. Bayse of Billings.  Uniforms were excused and each class had its share in the gay display of colors.

Jan. 25, 1945

Mrs. Pat Tomlinson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Rimer, received a telegram from the war department Saturday bringing her the sad news that her husband, Pvt. Pat Tomlinson, had been seriously wounded near Luxembourg Jan. 2.  

Miss Doris E. Anderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Anderson of Greybull, recently completed her training as a nurse and graduated from the Cook County School of Nursing in Chicago.

70 Years Ago

Jan. 6, 1955

More than 200 teenagers attended the New Year’s Eve party at the Greybull Youth Center.  There was dancing and games.

Ralph Rose, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Rose, had the misfortune to fall from a teeter-totter at the playground, fracturing the nose bone.  He is resting at his home.

On Dec. 30, the Greybull Buffs won their second consecutive game, defeating the Powell Panthers, 41-40.

60 Years Ago

Jan. 7, 1965

Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Yates of Greybull weren’t the parents of the first babies of the new year, but they have the distinction of being the last in the old year.  They are the parents of twins Darla Kae and Debbie Rae.

Mary Jane and Jim Brown have purchased Economy Furniture from N. L. Samuelson of Cody.

All footings on the new bridge over Shell Creek at Shell town are expected to be finished this week.
