Representatives from Lovell, Powell, Cody, Worland, Basin, Gebo and Elk Basin held a baseball meeting at Greybull and decided to form a Big Horn Basin Baseball League. The organization is to consist purely of local talent and will play Sunday games only, running from May 10th to July 5th.
The new bridge over Shell creek at what is known as Linn Crossing will be completed today so far as the bridge contract is concerned, the crew having commenced laying the floor yesterday.

When the first Burlington train to roll over the rails into Worland was re-driven Saturday at the “Daze of the Gay Nineties” celebration, it is interesting to note that it was manned by Greybull men. D.J. Nelson was in charge of the train, Riley H. Wilson was the conductor, Roy Delaney was the brakeman, Roy Jackson was the engineer and A. J. Pederson was fireman.
This year’s junior prom can boast of one distinction which cannot be claimed by others. There was one particularly distinguished guest at the prom here Friday night. That guest was A. O. Eberhart, former governor of Minnesota. Mr. Eberhart happened to be in town, so he was invited to the prom by superintendent E. T. Ferry.
Frances Ann Gould, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gould, had the misfortune of breaking her left arm Friday evening.

May 3, 1945
Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Bond were notified by the war department Friday that their son, Private Edward Raymond Bond, had died of wounds received on Luzon, April 7.
According to a letter received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ewen, Clinton Ewen, flight officer, and his entire crew was reported missing in action.
Walter Drengson, instructor of music in the Greybull schools, was elected president of the Big Horn Basin music festival organization Friday.

May 5, 1955
Ray Haach, French horn and LaVerne Plenger, B-flat clarinet, will be among the Greybull musicians to appear in the University of Wyoming band in its annual music week concert at the university May 5. Herb Mobley of Shell, trombonist, will also appear with this fine musical organization of 95 pieces.
Jack Roberts, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arlie Roberts, was named president of the Sioux Falls College student association of recent student election on the campus.

Dr. Fred Booth requested reappointment as manager Monday night, completing the list of four Little League managers for the coming season. Other managers are Ed Huddleston, Joe Scharen and Hector Good.
John Flitner is closing his law practice in Greybull effective June 30 and moving to the West Coast. Flitner has practiced law in Greybull since January 1958.
The Town Council agreed to reseal the residential paved streets out of next year’s operating expenses and approved an estimated general fund budget of $85,000 Monday night.

Mrs. Lena Werbelow, a longtime resident of the Emblem area, was honored as the oldest mother living in Greybull. Lena reached her 93rd birthday nearly two months ago.
A rumor that plans are under way to cut back on the vocational training program at the Greybull High School was squelched by principal Robert Jahns Friday night at an information meeting for parents and patrons.
