March 20, 1925

The Fisk Pharmacy is putting on some airs in preparation for spring business. A couple of weeks ago a full set of new awnings was put up and now the interior is undergoing a redecorating at the hands of Ralph Bringman.

The name of the Big Horn Utilities company, under which Greybull has been furnished with electricity for so long, has been changed to Midwest Public Service.

90 Years Ago

March 21, 1935

Tom Ingram’s truck, used for delivering Conoco gasoline and oils, looked like the night after Halloween this week after being all pasted up with Conoco product advertising.

Pouring cement for the two tennis courts being built in the park was started today.  It is agreed that the location for the courts in the park is ideal and makes a splendid addition to Greybull’s playground facilities.

80 Years Ago

March 8, 1945

Frank Ewen, well known Beaver Creek sheep man, fractured his right leg Tuesday afternoon while assisting with the sheep shearing.  He was pinned beneath the scaffolding supporting the large wool bag when it collapsed.  Mr. Ewen was brought to Greybull early today and his leg was set and placed in a cast.

Louis Werbelow, serving in the U.S. Navy, lost his life in a typhoon in the Pacific December 18.  This was sad news received a few days ago by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Werbelow of Emblem from the navy department.  The storm was reported as having been one of the worst in history and the ship on which the Emblem young man was aboard was caught in that storm.  It is believed that the entire crew perished.

70 Years Ago

March 17, 1955

Mr. and Mrs. William Unterzuber announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Shirley, to Glen William Davis of Basin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Davis of Basin.  The wedding will be held April 1.

60 Years Ago

March 11, 1965

Charles Rutherford, who taught music in the Greybull schools for 13 years, has announced his resignation from the GHS teaching staff.  The longtime and popular band director took a leave of absence last year to finish his doctor’s degree at Colorado State.

50 Years Ago

March 20, 1975

The C. R. Anthony Company will close its store in Greybull, operated as Anthony’s, in the 400 block on the north side of Greybull Avenue this weekend with Saturday the final day of business for the store.

Red McIntosh proudly accepted the first-place trophy for winning the annual Elks bowling tournament.  In the annual ladies city bowling tournament, Treva Williamson and Cindy McIntosh were winners of the doubles events
