The Bighorn National Forest is investigating the cause of a wildland fire Friday afternoon above Shell Falls.
Multiple agencies responded to the fire, which started around 1:30 p.m. near mile marker 28 on U.S. Highway 14.
Brent Godfrey, the Big Horn County fire warden, said the fire was contained to 4.4 acres and that no structures were damaged.
He credited members of the Shell Fire Department, the Greybull Fire Department (which sent its 3,000-gallon water tanker), the BLM and the Forest Service for providing multiple engines, aircraft and personnel.
