The South Big Horn Little League majors shook off an Opening Day loss to the Lovell Yankees by reeling off three straight wins last week to improve to 3-1.

The Bandits swept a May 6 twinbill in Lovell, winning the first game 13-0 and the second 7-3.

Quaide Houchin and Jayden Waddell combined to blank the Red Sox in the opener. Across five innings, they struck out 11 and yielded just two walks and a hit.

Houchin went 2-for-2 at plate with four RBIs for the Bandits.

The Bandits needed a pair of runs in the third and a three-run rally in the fourth to take the nightcap.  Korbin Stewart got the win in relief of Kru Keisel, allowing just a single unearned run in 1 2/3 innings.

Houchin, Stewart and Waddell each knocked in at least one run to pace the Bandits at the plate.

The Bandits pushed their win streak to three on Thursday night, shutting out Otto 6-0.  Stewart started and Houchin relieved, allowing just a single hit while fanning 13 in the five-inning game.

Stewart had two RBIs while Houchin and Keisel each went 2-for-2 to power the offense.

Minors

Curtis Johnson’s team of minors took two on the chin last week, losing May 6 to a team from Lovell, 5-1, and May 8 to the Otto minors, 3-2.

With nearly 20 players on the roster, only a couple Bandits got more than one at-bat in either game.  Jace Davison had the  team’s only hit against Otto. Against Lovell, he was joined in the hit column by Asher Lindgren, Conner DeShazer, Peyton Grizzle and Ainsley Mulley.

Handling the pitching chores for the Bandits were DeShazer and Davison against Lovell and Paxton Reiter, Evan Winkler and Cesar Lopez.

Seniors

The senior-level team was off last week, but is scheduled to resume play with a May 27 game against Thermopolis.
