Basin native says he supports nationwide RVAT initiative
Dear editor:
Hello, I’m Jim Skovgard (R), a fifth-generation immigrant whose family homesteaded in Basin, Wyoming, around the 1900s. As a matter of fact, my great-great grandfather Simon Skovgard (R) served as president of the Wyoming State Senate in 1923.
Our family has been mostly politically silent since that time. Around September 1, 2024, I had had enough, enough politics of retribution, politics of misinformation and, above all, the politics of fear. I started speaking on social media, not knowing what would happen. I responded to a political ad by RVAT (Republican Voters Against Trump) and the following ensued.
I’m sharing this roundup of media coverage from the tour. www.rvat.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Clip-Book-RVAT-Bus-Tour-UPDATED.pdf.
I’m running for no office, supporting no candidates and standing opposed to Trump.
Jim Skovgard
