Chamber checks directory off to-do list

Three thousand copies of a “Welcome to Greybull: Heart of the Big Horn Basin” business directory landed in Greybull, Basin and Shell mailboxes and were hand delivered to restaurants, motels and campgrounds last week.

Robby Skillman, president of the Greybull Area Chamber of Commerce, called the publication a team effort and the realization of “one of the first goals we had when we started” as new board.

The full-color, 24-page directory lists the names, addresses, phone numbers and websites of approximately 55 area businesses that are paid members of the chamber of commerce.  There are six sections of the publication: Dining, Lodging, Retail, Services, Nonprofits and Health & Wellness.

Skillman said he and fellow board member Josiah Mizel said revenue from the sale of ads and rent payments for the front of the chamber building would pay for the printing.

TK2 Designs handled the actual production of the brochure.

Skillman said the chamber board wanted to distribute the directory in May, but got bogged down waiting for all the information to arrive. He believed it will go much more smoothly next time — and there will be a next time.

“Our hope is to do it annually,” he said. “Since it’s come out, a lot of people are wanting to join the chamber, just so they can get in the directory.

“We’ll start selling memberships for next year in January, so if people are wanting to be part of this for the next time, they’ll want to get signed up in January.”
