Conservation district organization names Schultz teacher of the year

The Wyoming Association of Conservation District has honored Jenna Schultz as its outstanding teacher of the year, citing her achievements and contributions to the Greybull FFA program.
The award was presented Nov. 16 at the WACD convention in Dubois.
A Wisconsin native, Schultz is in her fifth year as Big Horn County School District No. 3’s ag teacher and FFA advisor.  She was nominated for the award by the South Big Horn Conservation District Board of Supervisors and its district manager, Ashley Coenen.
“With the support from Greybull school board members, Jenna worked hard to revitalize the FFA program and has been very successful,” they wrote. “From a humble beginning of just a handful of students, Jenna has built the program to include over 50 students in a small sized school.
“She has expanded the program to include future students from our middle school into our high school program. She is extremely enthusiastic and has been at the forefront of improvements to our school farm to include judging barns, a place for students to have livestock if needed, a community garden, greenhouses to raise starter plants for people in the community and enhanced all aspects of the FFA program.
“She works well with both parents and students and is very enthusiastic about her chosen career. She is not only a very hardworking individual, but also a great example to our students and patrons on the importance of taking care of our environment and the important learning skills that will last a person for a lifetime.”
Since arriving in Wyoming, Schultz has been awarded the Wyoming Ag Teacher 10-year Membership award in 2019, Wyoming Ag Program of the Year for Wyoming in 2021, Wyoming FFA Honorary State Degree in 2022, Wyoming Teacher Mentor of the Year Nominee in 2023 and The University of Wyoming Teacher Mentor for the state 2022-2023.
