Cook, Brown place first in Midway Golf tourney
Myron Cook and Melissa Brown emerged champions of the men’s and women’s divisions, respectively, at the Midway Golf Club’s tournament this past weekend.
Nineteen people competed in the men’s division while nine competed in the women’s tournament.
On Saturday, Cook left with 79 swings, followed by Riley Goggins and Elgin Cook with 80.
Tina Kelly led the women with a 92, followed by Belinda Storiem with 95. Brown, who scored 101 strokes, ranked third.
Cook held onto his lead when he returned to the green on Sunday, swinging 80 times. Goggins and Elgin both swung an 82.
Meanwhile, Brown chopped off points and scored an 89. Belinda Storiem followed, scoring 95, while Tina Kelly swung 102.
Cook topped the men’s division, followed by Goggins, then Elgin. The women’s division was conquered by Brown, who was followed by Kelly.
