Four grapplers win conference titles
Four Greybull-Riverside wrestlers won individual titles and every team member earned at least one win at their season-ending conference tournament Saturday in Thermopolis.
Coach Tim Eardley called it his team “best tournament all year.”
The conference champions included Harper Juneau and Jordan Potter in the girls A division and Irving Rodriguez and Sawyer Triplett in the boys B division.
Other placers in the girls division included Tatum Triplett, Delta Craft and Kaislee Nyberg, each of whom captured second, and Ryan Whisenant, who was fourth.
Emaline Smith helped the team as well, earning a match win.
Kaysen Nyberg, Noah Blakly and Quaide Houchin were G-R’s only wrestlers in the A division. While they didn’t place, each of them won at least one match.
In other B division results, Haakon Craft and Ashtun Winkler placed second, Jayden Waddell took third, Parker Callier racked up two wins and Trenton Lowe and Jayden Winkler each won once.
“Everyone on the team has improved a ton. They have learned a lot, worked extremely hard, and encouraged everyone to do their best,” Eardley said. “We can always improve, but overall, we are super proud of all our wrestlers.”
