G-R wrestlers claim five titles at Lander tourney

Five members of the Greybull-Riverside wrestling squad won their weight classes at Saturday’s 12-team Lander Valley Middle School Invitational.

The largest tournament to date for the G-R grapplers, it featured wrestling in the A and B divisions as well as a separate girls division. Riley Wiggins turned in the most impressive performance. The team’s only A divisions wrestler, he went 3-0 to take first place.

Harper Juneau pulled off the same feat in the girls division to earn a crown of her own.

And in the B division, G-R champions included Kaysen Nyberg, Quaide Houchin and Haakon Craft.

The team has only one even left on its schedule and its the conference tournament Saturday, Dec. 7 in Thermopolis.

 

GIRLS RESULTS — Tatum Triplet went 1-2, placed third at 64-69; Delta Craft went 2-1, placed second at 86-95; Ryan Wisenant went 0-2, did not place at 96-98; Olivia Wenzel went 0-2, did not place at 98-108; Sophia Wilkinson went 1-2, did not place at 110-116; Maythe Garay went 2-2, placed fourth at 123-130; Harper Juneau went 3-0, placed first at 136-146; Jordan Potter went 0-2, did not place at 150-160.

A DIVISION — Riley Wiggins went 3-0, placed first at 126.

B DIVISION — Kaysen Nyberg went 2-0, placed first at 62-75; Marshall Brown went 2-1, placed third at 69-78; Braxten Link went 2-2, placed third at 78-85; Quaide Houchin went 3-0, placed first at 89-98; Jayden Winkler went 0-2, did not place at 94-99; Haakon Craft went 3-0, placed first at 101-110; Colby Thacker went 3-1, placed third at 101-110; Noah Blakley went 2-1, placed second at 111-115; Hunter Craft went 2-2, placed third at 135-148; Jack Winkler went 1-2, did not place at 142-157.
