G-R wrestlers compete at Cody tourney

With four individual champions and eight placers, the Greybull-Riverside girls captured third place at a middle school wrestling tournament in Cody.

Delta Craft, wrestling at 116-123, Harper Juneau, at 136-141, Maythe Garay, at 127-136, and Ryan Whisenant, at 97-103, won their weight classes to lead the way.

Jordan Potter and Kaislee Nyberg each finished second — Potter at 172-208 and Nyberg at 123-128 —  while Tatum Triplett added a third at 69-73 and Olivia Wenzel a fourth at 123-132.

Thermopolis and Powell were the only teams that finished ahead of G-R.

Boys results

The boys division featured competition in both A and B divisions.

G-R finished seventh in both.

Kaysen Nyberg led the way among A division grapplers, going 2-1 and placing second at 98 pounds.  

Quaide Houchin, at 126, and Sawyer Triplett, at 138, were third-place finishers.

Noah Blakley and Irving Rodriguez added fourth-place finishes — Blakley at 132, Rodriguez at 115.

In the B division, Irving Gallegos was the only individual champion, winning the 220-pound division.  Haakon Craft placed second at 132, Omar Guitron took third at 190 and Trenton Lowe and Jayden Waddell were fourth at 84 and 126, respectively.

Wrestlers who competed but did not place included Ashtun Winkler and Kingston Schedler, both at 77 pounds, Jason Torres at 120 and Jayden Winkler at 132.
