Greybull cowboys among state’s best this fall
Two young men from Greybull continue excel on the college rodeo scene.
The Central Rocky Mountain Region’s fall season ended with both Colton Farrow and Jake Schlattmann at or near the top of the standings in their specialty events.
Farrow, a senior at the University of Wyoming, leads the bareback riding with 755 points, 30 more than second-place Monte Edward Downare of Casper College. It’s a two man race as no other rider in the region has more than 400 points.
Schlattmann, meanwhile, ended the fall season in third place among bronc riders with 440 points. A sophomore at Sheridan College, he earned 440 points, trailing only James Robert Perrin with 545 and Malcom Lewis Heathershaw with 460 points. Both are on the Casper College team.
The fall circuit featured five rodeos, with stops at Chadron State on Sept. 6-8, Central Wyoming College Sept. 20-22, Sheridan College Sept. 27-29, Laramie County Community College Oct. 11-13 and Lamar Community College Oct. 18-20.
The UW men’s team finished with the most points this fall with 2,470.
Sheridan ranked eighth with 713.
