How did we get here from there?

 Way back when I first went to work at the Standard, probably in 1970, the owners, Bruce and Betty Kennedy, had one full-time employee - the receptionist. From Monday to Wednesday afternoon, the ‘work force’ grew to include Vonnie Harnden, who was the one in charge of ads; Carolyn Douglass Wright, who was a “jack of all trades, who did all the headlines, which was a job in itself - one letter at a time, then an N space, then the second letter, etc. so you can see how long it would take to complete. Donna Good Dalin helped in the dark room.
