A district court judge has thrown out a lawsuit that was brought against the Town of Greybull and its former police chief by an officer whose tenure with the GPD ended in December 2021.
Scott Drewry, who spent more than five years with the GPD, alleged breach of contract, defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress and loss of consortium in an August 2022 court filing.
District Court Judge Bill Simpson had previously dismissed the lack of consortium claim, ruling that Drewry “did not suffer physical bodily injury” and that the court “could not find where Wyoming has adopted a claim for loss of consortium based on emotional harm alone.”
The other three charges met the same fate. In a July 23, 2024, ruling, Simpson granted motions for summary judgement filed by former Greybull Police Chief Bill Brenner and the Town of Greybull.
