JV girls go 1-2 at Classic

Coach Nate Boyer said, “We look forward to playing teams like Lovell, Glenrock and Worland because you know it’s going to be a challenge.”

Boyer said his Lady Buffs “came out against a team that was playing a high paced game which put us on our heels in the first two quarters of play.”

A couple of the Buffs’ leading players were in foul trouble, which gave some freshmen a chance to step up in the second half. Although the game did not result in a win (they lost 45-23) the Buffs had an opportunity to put their offense up against an aggressive Lovell defense, which helped the girls gain confidence going forward.

Against Glenrock, the Buffs won 51-15. “Offensively we dominated with all but one player scoring,” Boyer noted.  “Games like this,” he said, “give us the opportunity to put in our favorite plays so the girls can find scoring opportunities.”

In the final game, the Lady Buffs lost to Worland, 47-20. Marlee Henson led scoring against Lovell with si points; Sherlyn Diaz Rios was right behind her with five.

Against Glenrock, Caitlyn Hunt led the team with 13 points, and Brooklyn Allen had 11.

Against Worland, Hunt led the team with 11 points.
